English Dickies

I don't just do western clothes! I have numerous colors of english dickies for sale and I also make custom hunt coats in limited numbers.

English dickies are a very useful resource to have if you show english or multiple styles. They are a bib looking accessory that when worn under your english jacket gives the appearance of wearing a shirt.

I love many things about dickies. First is the ease of changing when you use one. You can just throw it on over a tank top or sports bra with a simple slap of velcro, then toss on your jacket and you are ready to go! This also makes it great for keeping your clothes clean before showing, because you can put it on so quickly and not have to wear it while getting your horse ready.

The second thing I love about them, especially since I show in the midwest during the summer, is how much cooler than a whole shirt they are. Like I said before, you can wear as little as possible under your jacket when you are using a dicky. But also, during the cooler months you can wear your dicky over a long sleeved, heavier weight shirt to stay warm!

Finally, I love that you can afford to have multiple colors of "shirts" when you buy dickies because they are so much cheaper than a whole shirt! So if one day of showing you want to wear a blue shirt and the next day you feel like pink, you can do that, without breaking the bank.

I make these english dickies from a cotton/polyester blend fabric, with a mock button placet down the front. The collar (rat catcher) part is interfaced so that it will stand up nicely, and it closes with a strip of velcro. Unlike some other makers of dickies, I do not just put a little dot of velcro. I put a 2-3 inch strip so that you can have some room to adjust the collar tighter or looser, depending on your neck size.

The colors I have pictured are some of my basic, solid colors. But, I can also do pin-striped or plaid dickies, or any other color if requested. Have a certain color in mind to go with your jacket? I'll find your color and make one just for you!
